FAQs for Creators

This page describes common questions for Creators in VIVID. For other questions click here.

Get familiar with the editing interface

Before diving into creating complex plans, take some time to experiment with the practice and editing experience in the app.

We recommend:

  1. Trying out practices from several different plans to see how they integrate together on the "Today" screen.
  2. Experimenting with editing different practices using the pencil icon that appears on the practice screen. Pay attention to how the practice screen is structured with blocks, the different types of blocks, and the various types of reminders.
  3. Creating new practices using templates.

User plans VS community plans

Before creating plans in VIVID, it's important to understand the difference between "User plans" and "community plans":

How can I access community plans?
  • If you have a user plan that corresponds to a community plan, you can access the community plan by clicking the three dots next to the relevant user plan on the "My Plans" screen.
  • To view all the community plans you’ve created, go to your profile. To enter your profile, click on your avatar or profile picture in the corner of the screen, then click the same spot again after the sidebar menu opens.
  • In your profile, go to the "Plans" tab—these are the community plans you've created. Clicking on a plan here will take you directly to the community plan editing screen.
How can I convert a user plan into a community plan? How can I update my community plan according to changes I made in my user plan?
  • You can only convert user plans that you created into community plans.
  • In the "My Plans" screen, click the three-dot button next to the relevant user plan to open its menu. Select "Customize plan"
  • Proceed to the last tab titled "more".

If the user plan was never published:

  • Select "publish" to convert it into a community plan.

If changes were made to the user plan that have not been updated in the community plan:

  • You will see a "Publish Changes" button there. Click it, and in the popup that appears, confirm the publication of the changes.
  • Note: Publishing changes does not mean that the plan will be visible to other VIVID users; it only updates the community plan with changes from your personal plan.
How can I configure who can see my community plans?
  1. Control over who can view the plan is managed through the "Community Plan." You can access the community plans you've created from your profile.
  2. To set visibility for the plan, go to its sharing settings. These settings are found in the last tab when editing an existing community plan, and in the second tab when creating a new community plan.
  1. From this screen, you can choose whether all app users can find the plan and if you want to publish it in specific communities.
    1. Note that you can only publish in communities where you have publishing permissions. In most communities, this permission is reserved for community managers only. Contact us if you want to publish in a community where you don't have publishing permissions.
  2. On the same screen, you can mark a plan as private. If you do this, no one will be able to access the plan unless you add their email to the list of users authorized to view the plan.
How can I create a sharable link to my plan?
  1. If the plan appears as a personal plan on your "My Plans" screen, click the three dots next to the plan and select "Share Community Plan.
  1. If the plan does not appear as a personal plan, go to your profile, open the "Plans" tab, and click the share button next to the relevant plan.
  2. When sharing the plan, you can add an introductory message encouraging users to practice it, invite them to join your communities, and even invite them to become your buddies in the app to help them stay consistent.

Special Practice Types

How can I create a playlist of practices?
  1. Go to the editing screen for the practice you want to turn into a playlist or create a new practice.
  2. Click on the "⚙ Advanced Options" button located below the "+ Add a Block" button in the practice editing screen.
  3. Select "Turn this into a playlist of practices"
  1. From the playlist editing screen, you can add practices, change their order, and duplicate them.
  2. To delete a practice from the playlist, click on the practice in the playlist editing screen to access its specific editing screen, then select "🗑️ Delete this Practice."

How can I create a "Mark as Done" practice?

These practices contain only a title. The user will see this title on their daily practices screen with a checkbox next to it, requiring only that they mark it as completed.

To create such practices, click on the "⚙ Advanced Options" button located below the "+ Add a Block" button in the practice editing screen. Select "Turn this practice into a mask as done only"

How can I configure a practice to be shown in the toolbox (so the user can "use it as needed")?

1. Click on the "Reminders" tab at the bottom of the editing screen for the practice you want to add to the toolbox.

  1. In the reminders screen that opens, select "Make this an as needed tool"
  2. Define the situations in which this practice is helpful.
  3. That’s it! You can close the reminders screen and save the practice.
How can I create a one-time practice?

Click on the "Reminders" tab in the practice editing screen. In the reminders screen that opens, select the "One-Time" option.

That's it! You can close the reminders editing screen and save the practice.

How can I create a practice with multiple screens?
  1. Practices with multiple screens can only be created when editing an existing plan, not when creating a new plan. So first, create a new plan with at least one practice.
  2. After creating the plan, create each screen of the desired practice as a separate practice.
  3. Define the time or situation for the practice that will serve as the first screen.
  4. Set all other practices as hidden by opening the reminders editor and marking them as hidden practices. This will prevent users from accessing one of the middle screens directly.

5. Link the practices by adding a "Go to Practice" block to each one, directing users to the next practice in the sequence.
