To use a social reminder, choose someone who's close to you and ask them to use a secret word or phrase each time you look like you need to be reminded of your new mindset or habit.
The point of using a secret word is both to:
- Enable using it in public situations.
- Avoid negative atmosphere and a defensive response when the secret word is used.
For instance:
1) Plan: "I work in a way that would make we proud"
- The codename: "Abra Cadabra!"
- Who should use the codename: Someone who usually see you work
- When they should use the codename: When I look tired or slouch infront of my computer
2) Plan: "I'm not afraid of being myself around others, that's what I do best"
- The codename: "What day is it?"
- Who: A friend who often sees you with other people
- When: When I look anxious with around others
3) Plan: "I am a friendly, warm, welcoming listener"
- The codename: "Say something about the weather"
- Who: Someone close who often see me talking to others
- When: When I speak to people looking unexcited
