Reminders

When we create a new Plan Practice, we choose its reminders. Reminders determine when should we practice this Plan throughout the day.

When searching for a suitable reminder, try to think of a situation in which this Plan Practice is extremely relevant. Then, search through the prompts below to find the one that best captures this type of situation.

Five types of reminders

There are currently five types of reminders in the app:

1. Morning & Evening Routine
All of the Plan Practices set for your Morning or Evening Routine will be practiced together in a daily ritual. See more.

2. Time Reminders
Get reminded at a specific time. See more.

3. Physical Reminders
Get reminded by a physical item, such as a statue, a charger, your toothbrush, and so on. See more.

4. Social Reminders
Get reminded by a secret word that is coordinated with someone close to you. See more.

5. Location Reminders
Get reminded when you enter or exit a certain location, with a possibility of an offset (e.g. 10 minutes after I arrive home). See more.
Some devices are having trouble with this feature at the moment. Please send us feedback (by taking a screenshot on the app) if that's the case with your device.

Tip: Set it up right now!

When planning ahead, we tend to say “I’ll do that in future”, and forget that afterwards. To solve that, we want to take extra measures in order make sure future-you actually executes these plans.

Here are two options for how to do that:
1. Set these reminders right now, with no delays.
For instance: put a sticker on your toothbrush, talk to your friend about a secret word, and so on.

2. While reading about possible reminders you want to implement, write a note with the list of things you need to do in order to set up your reminders. Put this note in a place where it will annoy you until taken care of.
For instance: Stick this note to your keyboard, to your phone, or to your pillow. Don’t allow yourself to move that note until this is taken care of (and if you must move it - move it to a different annoying place).
