This guide is intended to help you get to know VIVID, its features, and all of the ways it can work for you.

Getting started with VIVID

1. Please find your VIVID login details, sent to you by your professor in the LMS.

2. Open this website (vivid.me/ma-510) on your phone. Click the following link from your mobile phone in order to download VIVID from the app store: https://vivid-invite.app.link/joinVIVID 

2. Open the VIVID app. You’ll be asked by your phone to allow VIVID to send you notifications, click allow. 

Enabling notifications is essential for VIVID to work properly! 

3. Select “Sign in with email”

4. Enter your Centenary email address and the password provided. 

You must use your Centenary email address in order to log in successfully.

Please make sure you type your email correctly. If possible, we suggest copying and pasting your login details to avoid typos. If you are asked to verify your email, it means there was a typo in your email address - please try again.

5. When you sign in, you’ll immediately be taken to the “Today” tab, where you can see the practices scheduled for today. 

6. The video below presents practicing in VIVID.
When you've finished practicing, remember to click "I did it!"

Take note: The “Today” tab is the only section of the app you need to use! 

The Today tab is where you will do all of your practices for the day.
You will be taken here automatically every time you open the app, and you can get there by clicking on the calendar icon 📅 on the menu bar at the bottom of the screen. 

Troubleshooting

Please try these 3 steps before checking the FAQs below:

1. If you end up away from the Today tab (📆) or encounter a technical problem:

Click the back button (←) at the top left of the screen until you see the bottom navigation bar:

2. Closing the app and reopening it will solve most technical problems (this means closing the app, unlike moving it to the background. If you aren’t sure how, click here for iPhone or click here for Android). 


3. Check if you're using the most updated version of the app (iPhone, Android)

FAQs about sign-in

The app asks me to verify my email, but I didn't get any email
  • If you're prompted by the app to verify your email, it means you've typed the wrong email address (for instance, a typo in the word Centenary).
  • Please type in your email carefully, or alternatively, try copy-pasting the email address.
I forgot my password - how can I reset it?
  • Click on your profile image (or the personal icon, if you have no image) in the top right corner 
  • In the menu bar that pops up, click “Sign out” (the last option) 
  • You’ll be asked if you are sure you want to sign out, simply select “Sign out” to continue 
  • From login screen, select “Sign in with email”
  • Enter your Centenary email address and click “Continue with password”
  • On the next screen (“Welcome back”) click “Forgot password” underneath the Sign in button
  • An email will be sent to your Centenary to help you reset your password

FAQs about notifications

How can I make sure notifications are set up on my phone?
  • Open VIVID on your phone
  • Click on the personal icon (or profile image) in the top right corner of the screen
  • In the menu bar that pops up, select "Settings" (the second option)
  • Click “Go to app settings” (the second option
  • You’ll be taken to the permissions and settings for VIVID on your phone
  • Make sure that notifications for VIVID are set to “allow”
How can I change the notification times for my practices?

Please follow the steps described in this video.

Take note: In some devices, the app crashes when editing multiple notification times too quickly. As a temporary workaround, you can simply wait about 10 seconds until you see the previous notification time is changed before attempting to edit the next notification time.

The steps described in this video
  • Open VIVID and you'll be taken to the “Today” tab
  • Click on the time (ex 8:00am) to the left of the practice you would like to edit the notification for (ex: Daily Movement 1).
  • On the next screen, click "set" next to "At [time]"
  • Use the clock dials to select your preferred new time or click on the keyboard icon in the bottom right corner to type your preferred time. When you’re done, click “OK” in the bottom right of the pop-up.
  • Click "save" in the top right corner
How can I remove the notification for one of the Daily Movement practices?

Other FAQs

I accidentally started another plan from the Discover tab, how can I remove it?
  • Open VIVID and click on the home icon 🏠in the menu bar on the bottom of the screen to navigate to “My Plans”:
  • On the “My Plans” screen, click on the name of the plan you’d like to remove
  • On the next screen, Plan Details, click on the three dots in the top right corner:
  • A pop-up menu will appear. Click “Discard plan” to remove the plan:
  • You’ll be asked if you are sure you want to delete this plan, simply select “Delete anyway” 
I had a couple days of practice or a streak, but the app doesn't show it anymore. Why is that?

We recently received reports about a bug causing streaks to get lost on some devices (rare). We'll solve this bug as soon as possible. Anyhow, streaks in VIVID are irrelevant for the course and for its grading.
